This role is ideal for an experienced Market Research Manager with relevant experience in the financial services market who wants to be a part of something that is a little bit different than that offered by the standard ‘research agency’ career path.

You will deliver bespoke research projects commissioned to meet specific client needs as well as help to produce our own regular reports which are purchased by the financial industry.

This role will suit experienced market researchers who are able to design, conduct, manage and present research projects – being involved at all stages of the research process – from inception to delivery. An understanding of and confidence in both qualitative and quantitative methodological approaches is essential.

You will be confident in moderating qualitative focus groups and depth interviews and comfortable presenting your research to senior stakeholders in the financial industry. Ideally you will also have experience in using online qualitative research platforms. As part of a small research team, you will need to be comfortable managing all aspects of the research process e.g. organising research venues, dealing with recruiters, confirming appointments and arranging incentives.

You will be joining a small team that is proactive and moves quickly. We are looking for someone with a passion for research, great attention to detail who can bring new and fresh ideas. You will enjoy engaging with consumers, hearing their stories and turning these insights into clear business recommendations for our clients.

Previous Experience

We are looking for a Market Research Manager who will be able to complete the following:

  • Designing and writing research proposals.
  • Creating materials (e.g. topic guides, stimulus) required for qualitative research.
  • Organising qualitative research e.g. booking venues, managing recruiters etc.
  • Qualitative moderation – including focus groups, telephone and face-to-face interviews, online qualitative research.
  • A competency with collecting and understanding quantitative data.
  • Drawing together data and insights from multiple sources and managing this to present a single, aggregated view with meaningful conclusion.
  • Producing client reports and presentations which summarise and report back on the findings and deliver business recommendations.
  • Managing external third-party suppliers (e.g. recruitment agencies, quantitative panel providers).

The Role

You will:

  • Be familiar with the Market Research Society Code of Conduct.
  • Have experience of creating and managing consumer research projects for clients.
  • Have an interest in the new digital developments in the consumer investment market.
  • Have a good understanding of the key financial products and services.
  • Have a basic understanding of how consumers access financial products today and the choices that they make.
  • Be confident in front of senior audiences.
  • Take a genuine pride in your work.
  • Have an interest financial services and a desire to make the market more consumer-friendly

Boring Money is an ‘established, start-up’ consumer website set up by the Founder of The Platforum, Holly Mackay. We help people who find finance baffling and confusing to make some sensible decisions.

Boring Money launched in June 2015. Since then our audience has grown substantially. The events we hold and the research we produce has gained industry recognition and we regularly run features in national publications, most recently in The Times and The Sunday Times.

Location & Team

The role is full-time based in London, near to Bond Street Underground Station.

Salary and start

Salary commensurate with experience and an immediate start preferred.
